Reading at LIFE

At LIFE Male STEAM Academy, we believe strong reading skills open doors to knowledge, confidence, and future success. Through our reading program, we take a personalized approach to helping each scholar grow in proficiency, comprehension, and vocabulary development. 

Our dedicated reading specialist, Mrs. Reed, works closely with scholars to assess their individual reading levels and provide targeted instruction that meets them where they are while challenging them to push further. Her commitment has helped many of our young men increase their reading levels by multiple grade levels in a single year. 

We also build a culture of literacy through school-wide initiatives like our annual Scholastic Book Fair and reading challenges throughout the year. Scholars log their reading minutes using Beanstack, and earn prizes and recognition for their progress. 

Whether a scholar is catching up or reading ahead, our goal is the same: to help every young man become a confident, capable reader prepared for high school, college, and beyond.
